Meet Bill

I want to listen to you and here’s a little about me…

At 24 years old, I was working in New York as a trader on Wall Street. The environment really resonated with me.

My experiences were exciting and when I made it back to my hometown of Chicago to start a new division for a new firm, my boss gave me no direct advice. He simply said, “I don’t know what to tell you to do in building this division, but I’ll know if it’s wrong.”

Looking back, it was seriously good advice. He empowered me to meet the challenge. He let me represent the company and develop the skills to build what was needed. He didn’t give me a guide filled with answers. He gave me resources and encouragement.

My time on the trading floor and in management introduced me to many people and gave me the opportunity to listen, understand, lead and make mistakes. I thought I had a lot of answers. What I needed was challenging questions.

I’ve been in the shoes of bottom-line responsibility, brand development and ownership, client relationship building, employee, colleague mentoring. I can relate to the stresses and successes.

If I had an advisor to hear my ideas, help me organize and prioritize for greatest impact throughout my career, it would have benefited me greatly.

I want to be the person you can call.
